For the first time worldwide Gina Haley, the highly talented daughter of Bill Haley, will be on an international tour presenting both some of her father's songs and her own fresh recorded rockabilly CD. The "league of fame" is topped of with the appearances of Bill Turner, Bill Haley's well known original lead guitarist in the seventies and Original Comets' steel guitarist Pete Davenport. Gina Haley is the youngest child of rock and roll pioneer Bill Haley from his marriage to his last wife Martha; she grew up in Harlingen and she was only five years old when her father died in 1981. At 18 years old she left home and set out to find her musical identity which landed her in Houston and later in LA. She managed to catch the eye of producer Michael Sembello, and worked closely with him writing, recording and arranging tracks which appeared in television and movies. Her first self-titled album was released in Japan in 1999. In June 2008, the Gina Haley Band performed at the Bill Haley induction to the South Texas MusicWalk of Fame. Bill Turner brings a life-long passion for rock 'n' roll to this tour as he played lead guitar for Haley until the end of 1976. In 1975 he participated in one of final performances at the Nite Cap, where Rudy was reunited with Franny Beecher after 13 years. He's still performing today, occasionally sitting in with the original Comets. He is the leader of the Bill Turner & Blue Smoke band. Bill Turner continues to be an active and enthusiastic promoter of Bill Haley's legacy; this included helping Haley's widow, Martha, sort out estate issues in the 1980s, and escorted Haley's youngest children, Pedro and Gina, to Bill Haley's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Philadelphia Music Foundation inductions in 1987. Turner is credited with helping reunite the 1954-55 Comets for the Philadelphia Music Awards. He continues a close association with Martha Haley and the Haley family. Six years after Bill Haley's death, his family encouraged Joe Clifton to establish a new Comets band to perform Bill Haley's music in its original jumping jiving fifties style - Bill Haley's New Comets were born! Two years later, the New Comets started to conquer an audience consisting of two generations: the older ones who yearn to relive their own youth afresh, and the young kids who are now getting to know the initial rock and roll, and who are just as - or even more - fascinated by this vital music as their parents were thirty years ago. In the meantime, countless spectators have experienced these musical fireworks worldwide and have celebrated this swinging and rocking native sound with standing ovations. A great stage-show, dedicated to the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll', presenting the most important mile stones of his career full of entertaining music.
